Mak
Mak grew up in Huntsville, Ontario as a classically trained Cecchetti ballet dancer, later attending Quinte Ballet School of Canada. She also was immersed in the world of fitness competitions and demonstrations at the tender age of 7, leading her first class at Sick Children's Hospital Aerobithon by age 10, and granting her a spot on the Raptor's Junior Dance Pack.
Declining the ballet world, she retired for two years. However, the desire to re-connect caused her to experiment in breaking. This carried into Randolph Academy for the performing arts, where she invested in singing and acting. Finding liberty in freestyle dance, Mak left the program after one year to join up with her brothers of Team Ryouko for their first show Impact, at Massey Hall (2007).
Mak's choreography is a mixture of dances from flamenco to hip-hop derived from her passion of expression. Her style has been showcased with Team Ryouko, Luther Browns' Red City, Masia One's Return of the Bgirl, Much Music's Hotties Next Door, and in the fashion line Deez Knots. As a literary composer, Mak has written and directed a play involving XSD, contemporary, and breaking, and continues to experiment with combining art forms.
